About Annemarie
Annemarie Durbin has 30 years international business and banking experience across Asia, Africa and the Middle East with ANZ and then Standard Chartered Bank including being CEO and executive director of a large, publicly listed subsidiary and latterly a member of the Group Executive Committee, the body which shaped that group's overall strategic direction and operational priorities.

Her roles at Standard Chartered included being CEO and Executive Director of Standard Chartered’s listed business in Thailand where she led the integration of two banks to form one culturally cohesive, highly profitable organisation; CEO in the Philippines; and various retail, commercial and institutional banking roles across Europe, Africa and Asia. She has also led several global functions including Corporate Affairs, Property, Resourcing and Reward, with accountability for USD1 billion annual budgets. During her career she specialised in transforming businesses and functions leading culturally diverse teams. Annemarie was also the executive sponsor of the company’s Diversity and Inclusion programme and Living with HIV education initiative.
In addition to executive coaching, Annemarie has a portfolio of chair and non-executive board roles and is a business mentor. She is also a Gallup-certified Strengths Coach and an accredited mediator.

Annemarie started her career as a barrister and solicitor practising in New Zealand. Annemarie also qualifed as a UK Solicitor when she moved to the UK in 1990.
Annemarie sees herself as a global citizen with New Zealand roots. She has lived and worked in a number of countries including New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, the US and the UK. Married with four children, she enjoys a wide range of outdoor pursuits in particular running, hiking, swimming, tennis and cycling and enjoys participating in various challenges with her husband to raise money for charity.
